Boulder Creek medical clinic slated to close, patients transferred to another city

Boulder Creek is losing access to a health care clinic provided by Dignity Health.

Dignity Health, which operates Dominican Hospital, has announced the closure of its Boulder Creek Medical Clinic, located off of Big Basin Way.

The foundation announced that all Boulder Creek patients will be transitioned to their newly established clinic in Scotts Valley. The Scotts Valley clinic is located at 245 Mt. Hermon Rd., Suite L.

Dr. John Bergren will also transfer to the Scotts Valley location.

"This decision was not made lightly and is the result of increasing difficulties to staff the clinic," read a statement given to KSBW 8 by Dignity Health Medical Group.

According to Dignity Health, all employees at the clinic have found new jobs inside the company.

The clinic will close on June 30.

"At Dignity Health Medical Group — Dominican, our top priority is making sure we can continue to provide the health care services our communities depend on. We are taking steps to improve efficiency and effectiveness, including the difficult decision to close our Boulder Creek Clinic. This decision was not made lightly and is the result of increasing difficulties to staff the clinic.

"Patients will be transitioned to our newly established clinic in Scotts Valley, located at 245 Mt. Hermon Road, Suite L., just 10 miles from our Boulder Creek clinic. Dr. John Bergren will continue to provide patient care at the Scotts Valley location. The clinic will be supported with additional staff and resources to best serve our patients with the personalized and compassionate care they have come to expect from our care teams."
